Schwartau "Kirsch Gruetze" (lit. cherry grits) is a Northern German dessert specialty, made with 50% red and black cherries and thickened with pectin. Topped with vanilla sauce, "Rote Grütze" is simultaneously sweet & tart, a refreshing after-dinner treat, or just between meals.
