This is one of Germany's best selling, highest quality sauerkrauts. Made without wine vinegar, the shredded cabbage is cured simply with salt and ascorbic acid (what makes lemons sour). The sauerkraut is mildly flavored, not salty tasting and crunchy to the bite. A nutritious addition to many meals.
From Hengstenberg, a leader in German vinegars and sauces, founded in 1876 in Esslingen am Neckar, Germany. In 1876 Richard Alfried Hengstenberg founded the Hengstenberg company in Esslingen am Necker, a town in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.

Excellent Sauerkraut
This brand is perfect!! It's not too salty and there is just the right amount of liquid to enjoy with the bratwurst or scrambled eggs for a really filling meal. It's also loaded with nutrients naturally occurring, since it is fermented. Thank you Taste of Germany!!
