This unique and authentic "Mohnkuchen" poppy seed cake - based on traditional Siliesian recipes and known in Silesian German dialect as Huxtkucha - is ready to serve and eat. A tasty treat for the spring and summer season, at weddings, and other festive occasions.

Silesia is a region of Poland (with German heritage) where poppy seed breads, cakes and confections are very popular, as they are in the Chech republic, Germany and other Central European countries.

This cake has a shortbread pastry bottom, large filling of poppy seed mix (30%), and shortbread crumbles on top.

Serve with coffee or tea and dig right into a slice.
