Wostok’s tarragon-ginger carbonated soda is based on a Georgian soda recipe (from 1887) but refined by them with ginger and orange juice. The flavor profile is fresh, spicy, and subtly sharp—tarragon lending an anise-like herbaceous-ness and ginger contributing warmth and bite.

WOSTOK is a Berlin-based craft soda (or “Limonade” in the German sense) producer rooted in an intriguing cross‐cultural heritage. The brand was founded around 2009 in Berlin-Kreuzberg by Dutch photographer Joris van Velzen, who had previously spent many years living in Moscow, and was inspired by the designs of the Soviet-era soft drink Baikal (first developed in 1973 by a Moscow institute) and other herbal-flavored carbonates.  WOSTOK’s mission is to revive unconventional flavor profiles in a modern, natural way: their products typically eschew artificial flavorings and preservatives, and many are certified organic.
Over time WOSTOK has grown from a niche Berlin curiosity to a cult soda brand with distribution in 20+ countries and a dedicated fan community.

In today’s mocktail and non-alcoholic drink culture, WOSTOK’s botanical and fruit-spice sodas offer the complexity and craftsmanship that modern consumers seek in alcohol-free beverages and serve as both sophisticated stand-alone refreshers and inventive bases for zero-proof cocktails.
