Spreewaldhof "Knackig Süß" gherkins refers to a specific type of sweet and crispy pickled gherkin from the Spreewald region in Germany.  They are known for its balanced sweet and sour flavor, with the "Knackig" (crispy) characteristic resulting from the special pickling process.

Spreewald Gherkins are a specialty food from the Brandenburg region of Spreewald, located about 60 miles Southeast of Berlin. They have a distinctly crunchy bite and light tart flavor. The Spreewaldgurke (gherkin) is protected by European regional indication law which means this gherkins cannot be produced anywhere else.
