I’ve tried many dried savorys and this one is the best. It’s summer not winter savory which is different and sold as “savory”. Most on the market dried savorys have small hard stems which are inedible even after cooking. This Bohnenkraut just has leaves which you can cook in your food and eat. Yum.
Bohnenkraut or Summer Savory is mainly used in dishes with green beans. At least in my family and where I come from. It gives the soup with green beans or the green bean vegetables this extra push of flavor that is so typical for green bean dishes. But I also used it in other vegetable soups, Eintopf, or stews. If you like the flavor you just want to put it in everything.
